The Nairobi National Park, only park in the world close to the capital city center, variety of plain game including lion, buffalo, cheetah, leopard, rhino, giraffes, and wildebeest among others are to be spotted. No elephants are to be found, mainly due to their destructive nature. A visit to the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage, a world renowned elephant conservation project, see baby elephants at close range during their daily mud bath and feeding, learn more on the conservation efforts being spearheaded and even support through donations to the project!
Amboseli National Park, offers a scenic view of the snow-capped Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest free standing Mountain in the world with huge herds of African elephants roam freely, cape buffalo's, lions, cheetah, giraffes, wildebeest among others dominate the habitat.
Tsavo East is well known as home to the legendary “Man Eaters of Tsavo”, pride of marauding lions which terrorized, maimed and killed railway constructions workers in 1889, and more so known for the “Red elephant of Tsavo” among other species and superb natural attractions, ideal to spot good game, visit the David Sheldrick elephant integration center at Ithumba where are relocated after their stay at the orphanage center, learn more as well on the protection and conservation efforts.
